DAY 1 : DELHI -SRINAGAR
On arrival you will be transferred to Deluxe group of Houseboats.
Late afternoon Shikara ride on Dal Lake visiting interesting places
around the Lake.
Dinner and overnight in Houseboat.
DAY 2 : SRINAGAR
Morning, after breakfast half day tour to visit world famous Mughal
gardens, return to Houseboat for a hot lunch.
Evening free for personal activities or optional visit to to Srinagar
city.
Dinner & overnight stay at Houseboat.
DAY 3 : SRINAGAR - KARGIL ( 204 KMS )
Leave after breakfast for Kargil by car / coach via Sonmarg and start
ascending most rough and wet road, Zojila pass 3527 Mtrs. known as
Gateway of Ladakh. Stop at Drass, the second coldest place in the world
for tea and passport check.
Another 3 hour drive will take us to Kargil. Dinner & overnight at
Hotel.
DAY 4 : KARGIL - ULETOKPO ( 153 KMS. )
After breakfast leave for Uletokpo by cars /coach. On the way visit
Mulbek Monastery, the first Buddhist Monastery on this road, and cross
highest pass on Srinagar Leh route - Fotula pass 13749 Ft.. Visit
oldest Monastery Lamayuru. Finally we reach Uletokpo. Optionaly visit
Rizong Gompa which is 9 Kms.to & fro on foot.
Dinner & overnight in Tents.
DAY 5 : ULETOKPO - LEH ( LADAKH )
After breakfast, drive few kilometers to reach Alchi Monastery, finally
reaching Leh ( roof top of the world ). Check in and Lunch at Hotel.
Afternoon free for personal activities. Dinner and overnight in Hotel .
DAY 6 : LEH ( LADAKH )
After breakfast full day tour of Shey, Thiksey & Hemis Monastery (it is
better to start early morning and you will get chance to see Praying
ceremony at Thiksey). Return to hotel in the evening Dinner & overnight
in Hotel.
DAY 7 : LEH ( LADAKH )
After breakfast half day tour to visit Spituk and Phiyang Monastery.
Return to hotel for hot Lunch . Afternoon, visit on foot to Kings Palace,
Tsemo Gompa, Leh Bazaar, Leh Mosque & Shanker Gompa. Dinner & overnight
in Hotel.
DAY 8 : LEH ( LADAKH )
Day for personal activities, Dinner & overnight in Hotel .
DAY 9 : LEH - SARCHU ( 250 KMS )
Full day drive to Sarchu via Upshi. We have to cross second highest
motorable pass in the world (TAGLANGLA PASS 5350 MTRS), one of the most
beautiful view can be seen from the top. Finally we reach Pang. There are
chances to see tiny colonies of Marmots , Yaks & Herbs on the way. At
Pang we stop for Lunch AND continue drive to Lachlugia pass 5065 Mtrs.
ragged in the middle of the mountains. Arrive Sarchu. tonight we camp
at 4200 Mtrs.. Dinner & overnight in Tents .
DAY 10 :SARCHU - JISPA ( 116 Km. )
Sarchu is the border line between J & K & Himachal Pardesh. Today in the
morning we enter into Himachal & we reach Barachala pass 4883 Mtrs.
Here on the top there is a lake known as Surajtal & we will visit first
village at Darcha after Meru. One may visit to Dalia Lama Monastery
which has been recently built. Dinner and overnight in Hotel .
DAY 11 :JISPA - MANALI ( 135 Km. )
After short drive we reach Keylong, the head district in this area and
we will stop here for one hour to visit around the local Bazaar and
continue drive to Manali. Finally we reach Khoksar where we stop for
passport checking & Lunch. Continue ascending towards Rohtang pass 3978
Mtrs.. & we dip into Manali region. Dinner & overnight in Hotel .
DAY 12 :MANALI
Halt at Manali for lavish display & visit 400 Yr.. old Pagoda Temple of
Hadimba Devi & Bazaar . Dinner & overnight in Hotel .
DAY 13 : MANALI - DHARAMSHALLA ( 265 KM. )
Leave Manali and drive to Dharamshalla on the way visit Triloknath
Temple. Dharamshalla has risen to an international fame as " THE LITTLE
LHASA IN INDIA " Since from 1960 when it became a temporary headquarters
of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Dinner & overnight at Hotel .
DAY 14 : DHARAMSHAKLA - CHANDIGARH
Leave Dharamshala. On the way visit Jawala Mukhi Temple & continue drive
to Chandigarh. Check in Hotel. Immediately visit Pinjore garden. Dinner
& overnight in Hotel .
DAY 15 : CHANDIGARH - DELHI
In the morning visit Parliament House, Le Corbusier and one of the best
Rock gardens built by Nek Chand which is worth a visit. In the
afternoon transfer to railway station to connect to Himalayan Queen or
Shatabdi train for Delhi.
